Southern Children's Physiotherapy provides specialist neurological assessment and tailored treatment for children with neurodevelopmental conditions.

We support children with a wide range of needs, from congenital conditions such as Cerebral Palsy to neuromuscular conditions like Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). We also work with children who have acquired brain injuries or genetic conditions affecting their development.

For families seeking early support, we offer assessment and advice for babies to guide intervention from the earliest stages.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a GP referral for private children's physiotherapy?

No - you can contact Southern Children's Physiotherapy directly, without a referral from a GP, paediatrician or local authority. We accept enquiries from parents and carers, as well as schools, case managers and solicitors. Simply get in touch by phone, WhatsApp or email to discuss your child's needs.
What conditions does a paediatric physiotherapist treat?

Southern Children's Physiotherapy specialises in neurological and developmental conditions, including cerebral palsy, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), Downs syndrome, neuromuscular conditions and posterior fossa syndrome, as well as early intervention for premature babies and children with developmental delay. Charlotte is a Bobath and advanced MAES trained therapist supporting children from birth to 19 years.
Which areas do you cover?

We provide children's physiotherapy across the south of England, covering Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset and Surrey. Sessions take place where your child is most comfortable - at home or setting - at a time that works around your family.

We can travel further afield to help with Expert Witness and SEND Tribunal cases.
What happens at my child's first physiotherapy session?

The first session is a detailed assessment of your child's movement, posture, strength and function, alongside a conversation about their history, your instincts and your goals. From this, Charlotte provides advice and treatment suggestions to you and/or your child's team - to ensure progress between sessions.
Can you support our EHCP or SEND tribunal?

Yes - Charlotte provides expert witness reports for SEND tribunals, delivers physiotherapy provision specified in EHCPs within schools, and advocates for children's needs at EHCP reviews and meetings. She is a member of the Medico Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP) and works alongside families, solicitors and case managers.
