Staff Profile

 Charlotte Taylor (was Karmy):

Charlotte is a Bobath trained therapist (Bobath Therapy) and she is a member of the British Association of Bobath Trained Therapists (BABTT).

She has specialist skills in treating children with a wide range of neurological, genetic and developmental conditions - whether their needs are mild, moderate or more complex. She has completed advanced Bobath courses for both babies and children and this is evident in the assessment and treatment programmes she carries out.

As a private children’s physiotherapist (physio), she has treated children with Cerebral Palsy and other neurological and genetic conditions both in the United Kingdom and over seas.

She holds the post of regional representative on the national committee for the APCP (Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists) and is also on the south west APCP committee.

As part of her role on National Committee, she helps to promote clinical practice and standards of practice for physiotherapists working in children’s physiotherapy, and also to promote the importance of children’s physiotherapy for those with neurological conditions.

She has helped to run courses in the south west for the development and education of children’s physiotherapists (physio's).

Charlotte worked for 5 years for Southampton Football Club as an academy physiotherapist and also as the physiotherapist the U18 Hampshire FA youth team.

She is a member of the Health Professions Council (HPC) and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). All Chartered Paediatric Physiotherapists should be registered with these. You can check registration at www.hpcheck.org and www.csp.org.uk

Charlotte has experience in setting up a physiotherapy service for neonates and is skilled in treating pre-term babies and babies who have problems at birth. She works with children with neurological conditions up to 19 years of age. Charlotte is able to provide a detailed and accurate assessment of your child’s physical problems and the functional implications of this – both specifically to your child and also to your family life. She also has vast experience in treating babies with un diagnosed conditions - that have a significant impact on their physical development.

She is innovative in her approach to treatment and aims to integrate it into your child’s life.  Together with you and your child, she is able to help plan goals that are important to you all. Helping your child to gain independence is essential.

Southern Children’s Physiotherapy offers a 7 day a week service to fit around your busy family life. Please call to arrange a time that will be convenient to you, and let Southern Children's Physiotherapy help to maximise your child's potential.
